08/11/2011 (Agence Europe) - Youth support programme. On Tuesday 8 November, the European Commission adopted the annual complementary action programme in favour of Algeria, including a youth employment support programme of €23.5 million. The programme aims to step up young people's participation in society and to support the government in order to promote youth employability and the setting in place of a guidance and accompaniment system to foster youth integration. It will also contribute to the development of cooperation between the main sectors concerned by implementing the national policy in favour of young people. In Algeria, 70% of the population is under 30 years of age. (CG/transl.jl)
