Warsaw, 19/10/2011 (Agence Europe) - Poland has not ruled out a change to the European treaty if it creates greater budget discipline. If a treaty change can get every eurozone nation and every euro candidate country to introduce restrictions on debt of, say 60% of GDP, then of course it should be done, said the Polish under-secretaryfor European affairs at a press conference in Warsaw on Tuesday 28 October. He said that the Polish Presidency favoured a strengthening of the European bailout fund, which could help recapitalise European banks and hoped that some irrealistic ideas would be rejected in favour of more realistic ones, like seeking funding elsewhere in the world.
