Brussels, 18/10/2011 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has teamed up with the French Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) to organise a joint seminar on recruitment practice in Paris on Tuesday 18 October.
“With the challenges we face today, at both EU and national level, it is more important than ever for public administrations to attract and select the very best staff”, stated Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic. In 2010, the EU recruitment office, EPSO, introduced major changes in the way EU officials are selected: assessment is now based more on skills than knowledge of EU history and legislation.
Among those taking part in the seminar were Bernard Boucault, Director of the ENA, Yves Quitin, Director General for Human Resources at the European Parliament and Chair of the EPSO Management Board, David Bearfield, Director of EPSO, senior French civil servants with responsibility for staff recruitment and students from top French universities.
