Brussels, 09/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - Member of the Executive Board and Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) and Chief Economist Jürgen Stark of Germany has decided to resign his post “for personal reasons”, the ECB announced on Friday 9 September in a press release. Stark has held his current post since 1 June 2006. His term of office was due to end on 31 May 2014. The ECB says that Stark will stay on until a successor has been appointed.
