26/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - Ineos purchases Tessenderlo's Suspension Polyvinyl Chloride (“S-PVC”) business. On Tuesday 26 July, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of the Suspension Polyvinyl Chloride business of the Belgium-based group by the Swiss-based company Ineos. S-PVC is a resin used in pipes, window profiles and other industrial applications. The Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not significantly modify the structure of the affected markets. The transaction involves two vertically integrated manufacturers of S-PVC, which is also used in moulded fittings, cable insulation and flexible tubes for medical products. (L.C./transl.rt)
