Working groups on fighting terrorism

Brussels, 25/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - Poland, which has just assumed the six-monthly rotating Presidency of the EU Council, and EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove will call meetings of Council working groups with representatives of Norwegian authorities after Friday's dramatic events in Norway, a Presidency press release of Monday 25 July has announced. A decision has been taken to “invite representatives of Norwegian authorities to take part in COTER (Committee on Terrorism) and TWG (Terrorism Working Group) meetings. Both working groups' meetings will take place as soon as is possible”, the press release says. A minute's silence was observed prior to all EU Council of Ministers working group meetings on Monday, as a mark of respect for the victims of the tragic events in Norway. (L.C./transl.rt)
