EU Industry Commissioner Antonio Tajani has written to the President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Philippe Maystadt, asking him to get the EIB to change its funding rules for shipyards, a move encouraged by a social crisis in the shipyard company Fincantieri in Italy.
