Opening the plenary session on Monday 9 May, European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek (Poland) welcomed three new MEPs: Mojca Kleva (S&D, Slovenia) who replaces Zoran Thaler, Phil Prendergast (S&D, Ireland) replacing Alan Kelly, and Sampo Terho (EFD, Finland) who takes over from Timo Soini. The Parliament also confirmed the mandate of new French MEP Brice Hortefeux (EPP) who replaces Catherine Soullie. (E.H./transl.rt)
