21/03/2011 (Agence Europe) - No restrictions on air travel to Japan, according to international organisations. The main international organisations responsible for civil aviation - the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) - announced on Friday 18 March that air travel to Japan was not dangerous and there were no health protection issues. Despite the many disasters that have affected Japan since the enormous earthquake that shook the country on 11 March, these different bodies consider that traffic restrictions to and from Japan are unnecessary. This decision was warmly welcomed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
