Explosion in external trade
China's trade grew by 34.7% in 2010 and was worth a record $2,970 billion. Exports continue to progress at a sustained pace. Last year they grew by 31.3%, to the tune of $1,580 billion. At the same time, imports grew massively. Last year, they grew more quickly than exports, by a rate of 38.7% and were worth $1,390 billion. Consequently, China's trade surplus was reduced by 6.4%.
