28/02/2011 (Agence Europe) - New EU representative. Czech national Jana Hybáškova has been appointed head of the EU delegation in Baghdad. Announcing the decision, Catherine Ashton said that the EU delegation in Iraq played a key role in implementing EU policy towards the country, and Jana was an excellent choice for the post. Jana Hybáškova was the Czech Republic's ambassador to Kuwait and Qatar in the past and from 2004 to 2009 she was an MEP in the EPP Group. (H.B./transl.fl)
