01/02/2011 (Agence Europe) - Universities open a “Window on Europe” in Italian press. Leading Italian universities, such as the Sapienza in Rome and Perugia, have just opened a “window on Europe” in the Italian press, with the writing all being done by lecturers and their students. The initiative, launched by the Faculty of Communication Sciences in Perugia and supported by the local paper Corriere dell'Umbria, has been extended to Rome through the free daily Metro which, every fortnight, devotes a page to Europe, prepared by a team from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the Sapienza. The aim is to make lecturers and students more aware of European Union matters by writing about European issues of interest to young people. (Gp/transl.rt)
