24/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - “There is a broad consensus to pass the finance bill before the elections, before they take place. The European Commission is satisfied because it is important for credibility and stability. It is hoping that the 2011 budget will be implemented as was agreed in the economic programme”, commented a spokesperson for EU Commissioner Olli Rehn on Monday 24 January, adding that Ireland had negotiated the economic programme with the EU and the IMF.
