Veolia subsidiaries to buy up United Utilities' businesses

Brussels, 29/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 28 October 2010, the European Commission gave the go-ahead for the planned acquisition of certain water and wastewater businesses of the United Utilities group of the UK by Veolia Water UK Plc of the UK and Veolia Voda SA of the Czech Republic, two subsidiaries of the Veolia group that specialise in water and wastewater management services in the UK and Ireland and in Central and Eastern Europe respectively.
