Air freight and passenger transport increase in Europe, but have still not made up losses

Brussels, 30/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - Despite the week-long paralysis due to the eruption of the Icelandic volcano in mid-April (see EUROPE 10122), European air transport continues to grow, according to the latest figures released by the Airports Council International-Europe (ACI-Europe) at the start of the month. In the first half of 2010, air passenger traffic increased by 2.4% compared with the corresponding period 2009. Freight transport increased by 24.7%. The upward trend continued...
