Madrid and Riga both to receive former Guantanamo detainees

Brussels, 23/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - Spain and Latvia are each to receive a former prisoner from the American prison at Guantanamo Bay, the Pentagon announced on Thursday 22 July. Spain has received a third former prisoner from Guantanamo, an Afghan national, having received a Palestinian in February and a Yemeni in May. The Latvian government agreed to receive a former prisoner onto its territory in early February. The American authorities have not announced the names of the freed men....
