Commission criticises Poland for failing to transpose flood prevention directive

Brussels, 14/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - The infringement procedure begun against Poland for failing to comply with EU rules on flood prevention is about to move to the next stage, the European Commission announced on Wednesday 14 July.

Despite receiving a formal notice (the first stage of the procedure), Polish authorities have still not implemented directive 2007/60/EC on flood risk assessment and management, even though the deadline was 26 November 2009.
