Renewable energy sources made up 62% of EU's new electricity generating capacity in 2009

Brussels, 05/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - A report entitled “Renewable Energy Snapshots” published by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) on Monday 5 July, shows that renewable energy sources accounted for 62% (17 GW) of the new electricity generation capacity installed in the EU27 in 2009.
