Parliament approves extension of EU financial support for decommissioning Kozloduy nuclear power plant

Brussels, 25/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 20 May, the European Parliament approved by 518 votes to 17 with 73 abstentions, the amended draft regulation for Community financial support to the decommissioning of the Kozloduy nuclear power plant in Bulgaria. The amendments introduced by the Parliament aim to introduce stricter provisions on environmental safety and the decommissioning programme, and call for details regarding financial controls.
