Brussels, 27/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - European Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn has informed the College of Commissioners of progress made in preparing the joint programme drawn up by the Commission, the European Central Bank (ECB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) with the Greek authorities. Talks are progressing well, said a spokeswoman after the Commission meeting on Tuesday 27 April, confirming that, in Rehn's view, the programme (which, after approval from the Eurogroup, will allow the release of the funds promised by the EU and the IMF) “will be concluded in early May”. She repeated that all the countries of the euro area remained committed to implementing the mechanism approved to support Greece and ensure the financial stability of the euro area as a whole.
