25/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - In a secret ballot on Thursday 25 March, the European Parliament approved the nomination of Vitor Constancio for the post of Vice-President of the European Central Bank. The appointment of Constancio, currently Governor of the Portuguese central bank will be endorsed by the European Council which opened in Brussels on the same day. Constancio will replace Lucas Papademos of Greece, whose term of office runs out at the end of May. (A.B./transl.rt)
