22/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - The intergovernmental agreement for the construction of the Nabucco gas pipeline signed by Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Turkey in July 2009 (see EUROPE 9942) has now been ratified by the national parliaments of these countries. Nabucco is a European project linking Central Asia and the Community market via the Caspian Sea and Turkey. The Turkish parliament approved the agreement on 5 March. On 18 March, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that this strategic project had the “full support” of his country. (E.H./transl.rt)
