Budgets committee authorises release of €7.6 million aid from Globalisation Adjustment Fund

Brussels, 24/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 23 February, the European Parliament budgets committee approved proposals releasing a total of €7.6 million from the EU Globalisation Adjustment Fund for workers made redundant in Germany and Lithuania. Parliament is expected to adopt the three reports by Reimer Böge (EPP, Germany) on these decisions at the plenary session in Strasbourg on 8-11 March. The EU Council of Ministers must also endorse this aid.
