21/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - When asked by Hans-Peter Martin (non-attached, Austria) during the European Parliament question hour about the European response to the financial crisis, the President in office of the European Council Diego Lopez Garrido noted that the texts on macro- and micro-prudential supervision would be put to the Parliament - in the course of the next few months, he hoped. Would proposals be required to put an end to the grotesque bonus culture, Sean Kelly (EPP, Ireland) asked. Why not, replied Lopez Garrido: it is perfectly possible to discuss best practice in financial bodies. (L.G./transl.rt)
