Geneva, 01/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - In the run-up to the 7th ministerial conference of the WTO (Geneva, 30 November-2 December)j, the EU allocated 3 million Swiss francs (€2 million) to the Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund (DDAGTF) as a contribution to the funding of the WTO training programmes for developing countries, the least advanced countries and transitional economies for the years 2010 and 2011, the aim being to facilitate recipient countries adjustment to WTO practices, rules and discipline, to improve implementation of their commitments and to strengthen the exercise of their rights. This new allocation brings to 9.2 million Swiss francs the EU contribution to DDAGTF. (E.H./transl.jl)
