EP wants to delay adoption of EU-United States agreement on Swift

Brussels, 26/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament has called for the adoption of an interim agreement with the United States on access to Swift banking data to be postponed. On Thursday 26 November, the leaders of the political groups authorised EP President Jerzy Buzek (EPP, Poland) to write to Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, whose country currently holds the rotating Presidency of the EU, calling on him to delete the item on Swift from the agenda of the Council of...
