European Commission proposes an Iberian anchovy quota of 20,555 tonnes

25/08/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission adopted, on Friday 25 August, a proposal amending the 2023 regulation on total allowable catches (TACs) in EU waters in order to update the TAC for common anchovy in ICES sub-areas 9 and 10 (Iberian waters and around the Azores). A provisional TAC (of 4,564 t for Spain and Portugal) had been set for the period from1 July to 30 September 2023, pending scientific data for the period from1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
