Unitary Patent and its court came into force on 1 June

01/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – With Germany having ratified the agreement establishing a ‘Unified Patent Court’ a few months ago (see EUROPE B13125A19), the unitary patent was able to enter into force on 1 June, after years of waiting. This means that users will be able to make a single application to enforce their patent in the 17 countries that have signed up to the unitary patent for the time being.
