Ylä Mononen takes office as head of European Environment Agency

01/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 June, Finland’s Ylä Mononen took up her post as Executive Director of the European Environment Agency (EEA) for a five-year term, succeeding Hans Bruyninckx, whose second term at the helm of the EEA ended in May. “In Europe as well as globally, decisive action is needed to limit and to adapt to climate change, halt biodiversity loss and stop pollution”, she declared, committed to taking the Agency’s work forward because “policymakers...
