28/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 25 January, the Commission approved two proposed mergers. The IBM Corporation of the US was authorised to purchase Cognos, of Canada, which offers business analytics software solutions. In a separate operation, Mitsui & Co Ltd of Japan and Rubis group of France saw their proposed creation of a joint undertaking Rubis Terminal Antwerp of Belgium, which will supply services at its liquid industrial products storage terminal in the port of Antwerp, approved. Both operations were examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (C.D.)
