13/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden have issued a declaration for the minutes of the 10 July 2007 ECOFIN Council (see EUROPE 9466) on funding for the EU's satellite navigation programme Galileo. In the statement the countries 'consider it essential that the necessary additional public funding for Galileo should not imply a revision of the ceilings of the financial perspectives 2007-2013.' They 'advise the Commission to include identified and quantified risks and liabilities of the implementation of the whole Galileo programme, and their possible impact on the EU-budget and clear solutions to minimise this impact within the scope of budget discipline when presenting detailed alternative proposals for the financing in September.'
