01/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - Parliament today endorsed two draft decisions from the Council on partitioning systems to protect passengers against displaced luggage, supplied as non original equipment (COM/2006/0112) and the adoption of uniform technical prescriptions on motor vehicles with regard to the driver's front field of vision (97/836/EC). The main aim of these two proposals, based on the UN Economic Commission for Europe regulation, is to establish mutually recognised technical prescriptions in order to avoid technical obstacles to motor vehicle trade between contracting parties, while ensuring a high degree of safety for drivers.
