05/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European United Left and the Nordic Green Left Group at the EP exchanged views on the challenges of the European Convention with representatives from parliamentary groups from left parties in Member States and Cyprus. The debates were indtroduced by Sylvia-Yvonne Kaufmann, Member of the Convention and Esko Seppänen, Deputy Member. Following Francis Wurtz' (President of the EUL/NGL Group) introduction on the eve of the meeting, MEPs discussed the challenges fthat the political situation after the recent elections in Member States represented for the "transforming left".
