22/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - At the end of a hearing with several non-governmental organisatiions (Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Human Rights Federation, Reporters sans Frontieres, Médécins du Monde and Avocats sans Frontieres), the Sponsoring Committee of the Passport to Freedom launched a partnership with these organisations so as to work together on cases of human rights workers whose safety or freedom is being threatened. You may recall that the Passport to Freedom is issued to human rights workers for whom they assure the sponsorship of several MEPs (Bonino, Hermange, Theato, Cohn-Bendit, Dell'Alba, Rocard, Soares, Morillon, Garriga Polledo, Hernandez Mollar, Jean-Pierre, Krarupp, Madelin, Sylla, Vatanen and Wuermeling).
