19/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - EU welcomes Bosnia-Herzegovina initialling protocol for the adaptation of the ASA for Croatia's accession to EU. On Monday evening 18 July, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, welcomed Bosnia Herzegovina and the European Commission initialling, earlier that day, the protocol for the adaptation of the Association and Stability Agreement for Croatia's accession to the EU. During a press conference at the end of the Foreign Affairs Council, she explained "progress clearly needs to be achieved". She added that this paragraph is also being welcomed by the Council and stated, "of course we are looking forward to continuing our work with Bosnia on its path towards EU accession". This adaptation is one of the conditions that Bosnia-Herzegovina has to make in order to obtain the status accesion candidate country. (CG)
