17/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Launch of 2015 European Tourism Forum 2015. The fourteenth European Tourism Forum is being held in Luxembourg on 17 and 18 September. Four important topics for the industry will be addressed this year, namely digitisation in tourism, promoting Europe using transnational, pan-European holidays on specific themes, skills development and training, and cutting red tape in the tourist industry. The event is being jointly organised by the European Commission and the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU and some 200 participants will attend from the public and private sectors. Tourism was on the agenda earlier in the week when MEPs on the European Parliament's transport and tourism committee voted on an own initiative report on the future of tourism in Europe. The report regrets the Commission's lack of commitment to the industry (see EUROPE 11390). (PH)
