On Wednesday 30 September, the European Commission, through its Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Henna Virkkunen, and the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Magnus Brunner, presented its proposal for the EU Critical Communications System (‘EUCCS’). The high-speed system is intended to make it easier for European emergency and security services to communicate during cross-border operations.
