06/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - The World Bank has developed a report on the long-term prospect for mobility of people and jobs in the Middle East and North Africa. The Bank, with the European Commission, will present the report in Brussels on 16 March. According to first indications, the report places emphasis on the link between Europe and the southern rim of the Mediterranean. Everything points to demographic imbalance resulting in accelerated migration and relocation, it says. The study affirms that supplier countries as well as host countries should begin to prepare and implement policies necessary for managing future imbalances. (F.B./transl.jl)
