01/09/2008 (Agence Europe) -On Friday 29 August 2008, two acquisitions were approved by the European Commission. The first concerns the acquisition of sole control of the German retail financial services activities of Citigroup (Citibank Germany) by the French bancassurance group Banque Fédérative du Crédit Mutuel. The second operation relates to the partial acquisition of two companies by the producer of chemical products for specific uses, Perstorp Holding AB (Sweden). The Swedish company plans to take over the activities of the Dutch LyondellBasell Industries focusing on the production and distribution of toluene diisocyanates, and the activities of Rhodia (France) in the production and distribution of hexamethylene diisocyanates and isophoron diisocyanates. These products are used in the production of polyurethane in the form of foam, coatings and resins. The two separate operations were examined under the simplified procedure. (C.D./trans.fl)
