12/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday evening, 11 March, MPs from the House of Commons in the United Kingdom gave the green light to ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. The text was then sent to the House of Lords. MPs approved the draft ratification law by 346 votes in favour and 206 against, after a fortnight of debates that saw the Conservative opposition's demand for a referendum being rejected (EUROPE 9617).
