28/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 24 January 2008, the European Commission cleared the acquisition of joint control of Bankenservice of Germany by US investors Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and MatlinPatterson LL, which invests globally in companies in financial difficulty. Bankenservice handles cashless payment transaction vouchers in Germany. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (C.D.)
