11/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 11 July, the Council of the EU adopted without debate the regulation extending by one year the protocol to the fisheries agreement between the EU and the Democratic Republic of Sao Tomé e Principe. There are fishing opportunities for 36 French and Spanish freezer tuna seiners, 2 Portuguese tuna pole-and-rod vessels and 25 Spanish and Portuguese surface longliners.
