28/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 27 December, a spokesperson for the Aceh national liberation movement GAM in Indonesia said that independence movement troops had been demobilised and disbanded as agreed with the Indonesian authorities in August 2005 in Helsinki. The Aceh rebels handed in their last weapons on 19 December, under the watchful eyes of a peace monitoring mission led by the EU (see Europe 9094).
