03/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Council of 20 June, expected to take place in Thessalonika, will be held on the Halkidiki peninsula in north Greece (on the Aegean Sea slightly to the south of Thessalonika) according to the ANA press agency. ANA adds that reports suggest two big hotel complexes, one on the Kassandra peninsula and the other in Sithonia are "contesting" the summit.
