Canada's ALCAN is to buy the flexible package business of Germany's VAW, acquired in 2001 by NORSK HYDRO. The transaction values VAW FLEXIBLE PACKAGING (2001 turnover of 637 million euro with a workforce of 5,400) at 415 million euro.
