BANCO SANTANDER CENTRAL HISPANO (BSCH), the largest Spanish bank, has concluded an agreement of principle for the sale of its insurance subsidiaries in Chile, SANTANDER VIDA and COMPANIA DE REASEGUROS DE VIDA SOINCE-RE. These two subsidiaries are controlled by the SOINCE holding, held at 99.78% by BSCH. Neither the amount of the operation nor the name of the buyer have been disclosed, but, according to financial sources, the buyer could be the American insurance company METLIFE.
