ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) communication

French VIVENDI UNIVERSAL has reached an agreement with the British investment fund CINVEN for the sale of its press activities grouped within VIVENDI UNIVERSAL PUBLISHING (VUP). CINVEN is offering EUR 2 billion, that is, twice the VUP turnover. VIVENDI UNIVERSAL's added value amounts to over EUR 800 million. The transaction is expected to be finalised before 30 October.
