On 25 July, the European Commission adopted its White Paper on Governance, that President Romano Prodi presented to the press (see EUROPE of 26 July, p.7). We are reproducing a summary of the document in EUROPE/Documents (in English and French), document on which the Commission will now begin a consultation process that will last until March 2002, to make a report by end 2002 on the results of this consultation. Initial reactions were on the whole positive (se EUROPE of 27 July, p.4).
