03/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - According to the European Commission, the economic confidence indicator went down again in June in both the Eurozone (-0.7 points) and the EU as a whole (-0.4 points). The biggest decreases were recorded in Austria and the Netherlands (-0.9 points), France and Germany (both -0.6 points). At the other end of the scale, confidence rose in the United Kingdom (+0.6 points) and Belgium (+0.4 points). The industrial confidence, construction confidence and consumer confidence indicators all fell in June, but the retail trade and service sector confidence indicators remained steady.
