The Italian railway FS and French SNCF have, through their respective subsidiaries TRENITALIA and SNCF FRET, set up a 50/50 joint-venture specialised in the transport of steel products, to be called SIDEUROPA. Expected turnover for the first year of business should be some 15 bn lira. In five years time, it should increase to 80 bn lira.
